My buddy went to the range with me today as I zeroed my new APA 308.

He brought his Weatherby MKV (I think that is what it is called, may have been MKIV, I dont know Weatherby rifles) in 340 Weatherby magnum.

He had just removed a Schmidt Zenith for a Zeiss Diavari with more magnification. The Zeiss was mounted on two piece bases using Talley rings. I had asked him if he torqued them down, and he had not.

The scope promptly moved under recoil. I checked the torque with my Seekonk 15 in lb wrench and the rings were torqued to more than 15 inch lbs. Using my 65 inch lb wrench showed they were less than 65, but I dont know the exact number.

After seeing the scope was moving, and the rifle not being consistent, he pulled the Schmidt out of his pack and mounted it. It, too, was in Talley rings. Well, after a couple shots, it also moved. But, when I checked the torque on those rings, they were less than 15 inch lbs. He had not used loc-tite. We torqued them down, and fired the last of his high dollar factory ammo.

He was getting the rifle dialed in for a guided hunting trip he is taking this fall. I told him there was no way in hell I would trust that setup for a high dollar trip out west. I recommended he get a one piece rail and a quality set of 30mm rings from Seekins or Badger. But I am not sure if either company makes a rail for that rifle.

My question is this. Can anyone recommend a high quality rail for this rifle?
