Random Military support question (long)

Okay, this is random but hopefully some military or military versed people can help.
I would like to show my support for the military folks that are willing to serve this country. I need a new hoodie because I wear a hoodie almost 365 (Idaho) until my wife forces me to get a new one.

I want an OD green hoodie that in someway shows I support the military WHILE AVOIDING the appearance that I served because I didn’t.
It’s weird because my friends got letters and recruiters etc but I never did. I even reached out a few times and it was like I was blacklisted. I always assumed it was because I had cancer for a year of high school. The other factor is I’m 39 now and I was diagnosed with spinal cord disease 1 year ago and have had 3 big surgeries and multiple smaller procedures in the last 9 months. So I currently walk with a cane and hunched over a bit and my legs suck and all of this could really make it look like I’m a wounded soldier.

I realize I’m over thinking something simple but hell so many people disrespect this country and our freedoms and especially those that make it happen.

So help me know the obvious. Hell maybe I’ll make a company that serves this purpose.

Wear any shirt you like that supports our servicemembers. When someone asks what branch you served in tell them the truth. That you didn't serve, but you are supporting the servicemembers.

The only shame is when someone has disparaged the servicemembers for a job they were sent to do. Then, when it looks popular, "supports" them. Servicemembers don't choose to go or not, they just make themselves available by choosing to go in to one of the services.

I’m not sure if that’s mocking or not.
As a side note when I travel airports I’ll buy meals and thank those in uniform. I’m a PA and the clinics I’ve worked I’ll do anything in my power to help even though it’s a huge PITA coordinating care with VA ?. I don’t do any of it for recognition. I would have served if they let me. My buddy from PA school is spending the year in Honduras and I am proud of him.

Wow, your reaction and assumptions tells me a lot. However I’ll try not to make assumptions similar assumptions about you. I’m sure you have been through some shit that makes you think I’m a keyboard drama queen trying to be mainstream. I said it was a ridiculous question. When it comes to military culture type common sense I admit that I don’t have it and since sniper hide is meant as a resource and it just so happens there is a lot of military folks then I thought what does asking a simple question hurt? Other than being accused of being a pain pill popping loser seeking attention from people he can’t even see???
Carry on doing what you do. If you have served then I thank you as well. I’ll do what I do and I feel very comfortable with my accountability to the one man that matters. Carry on.

There are several veteran owned &/or veteran supporting companies that make "cool" clothing with various "tactical / military / freedom" graphics on them, which donate some of the proceeds to the betterment & support of veterans. You could purchase from them & have the best of both worlds.

I like the preface of not being a dick. Well you are a dick. You are choosing to be a dick by making accusations of pill popping and twisting this from showing support to can’t dress myself. You are making the drama and I highly doubt this is new for you. You are such a miserable person that nobody probably wants to be around you because you make them miserable and so you go to forums to spread your misery. Your are the person that says things like “save your drama” after you made the drama. Get a life or therapy or whatever the hell you need. Maybe you weren’t held enough and are mad at the world. There’s help out there for people like you. See there’s still hope.

I agree that some good bantering is part of the fun but he crossed the line which is what he wanted.
Do you see the irony in your comment about “asks a question in the pit” and “that’s why it’s called the pit”? I joined sniper hide like 2 days ago and have zero clue what the “pit’s” reputation is or even should I say sniper hides forum common sense? That was the very point of the question I asked and what I wanted to avoid.

A little situational awareness goes a long ways though, don’t walk into a place called the bear pit with a juicy steak on your neck. Or don’t stand on a corner with a bum sign and ACU’s and you’ll be fine ;)

Part of me wants to come to the defense of the Op for he knows not what he done done.

However, his attempt at taking the D and giving some (however weak it may be) back. Kinda green lights him for the shit that comes. New guy or not, one must know that these are professional shit talkers and although it seems so one sided, it’s really not!

On second thought, you can probably just scratch that whole was gonna shit. Look at it this way, some hard ass muhafuckas did go to fight for your freedom to not join,wear whatever the fuck you want, and bitch and moan about it all.

Why pussyfoot around those freedoms? Now is your chance! Stand tall like a man, and express the freedoms so many have died for you to have.
