    Friend's wife of 25 yrs decided to pack up and go about a week ago. She is on camera packing up, and did withdraw about 50% from the bank
    accounts. They have 3 grown kids who haven't heard from her (but they didn't get along well). Should he report her missing to the local PD? I'm sure she is fine, but if something were to happen to her and he hasn't reported her missing. He contacted a divorce atty, none of this was brought up. (might need a new atty too).

    If she’s on camera packing up, then he probably doesn’t need to worry about being implicated in something nefarious. Otherwise, unless there’s something suspicious, then the cops probably wouldn’t even take a report as she is an adult and free to do what she wants. If he’s smart, he’ll drain what’s left in his account and open a new one.

    He did open an acct and moved the rest over. I'm agree they might not do anything (she's an adult), but also think it might remove any suspicion. (per 2aFan)

    Unrelated, I stopped by the fire department 15 years ago, told them I kept about 75#-100# powder, they didn't care. Figured if the house caught fire, it might be of interest - it wasn't.

    all true...at least in my state.

    My guess is....she aint gonna do that. If she would have wiped the other account out, different story. Still, id not take the chance.

    Ever hear of the saying that you never really know someone until you’ve faced them in divorce court? So true.

    In a lifetime of dealing with dirtballs stealing, poaching and trespassing calling LE has NOT ONCE yielded any positive result. I would like to simply opt out of my tax dollars that fund LE.

    It sucks when you have nothing to hide, and did nothing wrong but if ever needed that is how I plan to play the game.

    I didnt report it when my wife packed and left. Most dont.

    The fact he was recording her on camera is "interesting"... whole story isnt out. Something led to him recording her, and he more than likely wasnt surprised she left.

    If true she drew out half the funds, there should be evidence that any competent investigator could find. If his girlfriend did it, he just might have a problem.

    That the 3 children haven't heard from her, indicates something, how does he know that, are he and children communicating, if so, then.....

    Who tried to call her cell phone, etc, the children ask her best friend, hey u heard from mom.... yes, no....
    He contacted lawyer, hes contacted children, he did what normal people might to.

    He didn't do anything wrong, no problem.....
    He did something wrong, problem.

    Police wont do a missing person report on an adult unless foul play id suspected. Him reporting to police he has her on camera and she left is going to make a suspicious investigator, well, suspicious....

    Not enough information really. Let his conscience be his guide, done nothing wrong, worried, report it. But beware of hoof in mouth disease...

    but, most men fuck themselves.
    florida here, its a 50/50 split on all assets and all liabilities from marriage day to signing divorce summons.
    the law says it must be 50/50, so i ask why are the men saying otherwise.
    here, only 4% go to trial, WHAT?????
    only four percent go to trial, where there is a judge that has to hold the law, 50/50.
    men settle out
    men get fucked on their own accord, they take a settlement vs taking it to the judge who has to make a 50/50 judgement.
    i went to trial and besides the emotional hardships, i dont have anything bad to say about the law. the lawyers are a different thing.

    be safe and consider everything business here on out, no more personal, business only.

    My lawyer pretty much gave up divorce law except for clients he knows as he prefers to deal with honest murder trials any day of the week.
    According to him, doing criminal trials for murder, robbery etc is downright pleasant and everybody gets along wonderfully as compared to divorce court where it's all about how evil and deceitful can everybody be.

    Of course then you get into the whole "family court" arena and well for a man that's like being a homosexual Jewish freedom fighter in a National Socialist concentration camp.....

    It’s pretty simple, there’s no guarantee that an investigation will result from whatever it is he wants to report, but if he wants them to possibly start investigating, wherever that may lead, then report it and mention what crime it is he thinks has been committed. Otherwise, it’s a civil matter.

    1- Save the video and change all the locks, even the car keys.
    2-Drain the acct and cancel all the cards.
    3-Call an attorney.
    4-Call the cops and let them know she left of her own free will and youre only reporting it to get a paper trail...and get one.
    5-Call all your friends and have a MLK party...Im free, Im free, praise God almighty, Im free at last.

    desertion is grounds for divorce. if she is gone for a certain amount of time you go before a judge he says " have you seen your wife in the past 6 months" you say no, he says you are divorced. ask me how I know.

    Exactly although anything she charges comes out of her half. If she left, she abandoned the marriage. On the date the physical move happened. He needs to get the divorce process started ASAP to set dates. Record bank and asset statements with the attorney as of the day before she left. This documents the total net worth of all assets they have as joint partners. The court typically divides this number in half. Anything she spends during the course of the divorce should be counted against her when the final dissolution of assets notice is recorded. You don't get to take and then get half of what is left. She is only entitled to half of the assets on the day the marriage was abandoned.

    At least that is my experience.

    at least here in florida you are wrong, from wedding day till someone signs the summons.
    im sure laws can and do vary from state to state, for the love of god get representation and read read read, protect yourself.

    AND, remember there are forensic accountants available if you should need one.

    That is true everywhere unless one party "abandons" the marriage by moving. A good attorney can base the starting date as the date that the party abandoned the joint residence. Hard to serve a summons if you cannot locate the other individual.
