Range barrel cleaning procedure

Would you please explain the procedure that you use to clean a barrel at the range?

How many shots between cleaning and how many shots to foul the barrel again?

What do you use for chemicals to do the job?

Personally I never clean at the range. When I do clean it is usually only 3-4 rounds till it starts shooting well again.
I clean only when accuracy starts to drop off. I have a 280 which I have had for a long time which I have never cleaned! Still shoots consistently under MOA with factory ammo.

^^^^ What he said. I used to be a clean freak, every 40-50 rounds, didn't matter where I was at. Then I got sick of it and said screw it. I'll go 2 or 3 hundred rounds now between LIGHT cleanings. When I do, I use Copper-Klenz, not because it works better or worse than other brands, but because it doesn't stink like shit and it's not harsh for when I inevitably spill some.

With cleaning, nothing is set in stone. For every study showing one way to clean, there's another showing a different way. Same thing goes for chemicals. I'm sure someone is going to say I'm an idiot for not cleaning often enough and not using whatever brand they use...but I shoot until I notice the accuracy starting to go, then clean lightly (4 or 5 patches, then I don't have to shoot any fouling shots.) Everyone does things a different way, this is just how I do it.

Bore snake, and be done with it. I rarely clean my AR beyond that, unless I am shooting very cheap, very dirty ammo. In that case I might hit it with a chamber brush, and some balistol.

My bad, I'm an idiot and didn't realize I was in the semi-auto forum. Shoot it all day man, enjoy it. Don't worry about cleaning it till you get home that night.
