Iv got an opportunity to purchase some range brass. In general what's it worth by the pound mixed?

I bought brass from my work a few months ago. Our range officer checked scrap brass price and I think it was around $1.55/lb at the time?

It from a local range, so no shipping and not from an individual selling it. It's in buckets at the range.
Do you have to sort it all still?
If so, I'd give them a few cents a lbs more than scrap price. Sorting is fucking tedious.
All depends on where you live. Our current local scarp prices vary from $1.10 to $1.30 per pound.
I just called around for prices and I was quoted between 50 cents and $1 per pound from 4 different scrap yards. A couple of others would not take it. This was around the Little Rock Arkansas area.
Tedious is right. I bought two five gallon buckets worth and spent probably 7-10 hours sorting brass over a few days. It’s a lot of work.
In that case, make me an offer to keep mine!
Scrap doesn't seem to bring too much right now.
However, expect to find a few "jewels" in that bucket. ie. Gramps shot 40 rounds of nice factory 308, you pick the caliber, maybe new 6.5 Creedmoor, but don't expect to find any Lapua in there.
I did score 80 rds. of once fired Win. 6.5 Creedmoor last week as the guy had no intentions of reloading it.
I took that as a win as I will shoot the shit.

Thanks guys. I work for a large state police department. I get all the 556 and 357 sig brass I want. But I have a untamed thirst for 9mm. Im also an SOT with 3 9mm machine guns. I reload so 9mm brass is a must.
I know a person that runs matches at our range. 5 gallon bucket of 9 mm sorted and cleaned for 150.00
