A while back I had the opportunity to scrounge brass from a PD range. 24x5 gallon buckets, 1 magnetic sweeper, 2 (semi)-willing accomplices to sort the brass, and a lot of time later, I have a bit of a stash of pretty nice 223 brass. (Most of the brass went to recycling and became a pretty nice chunk of change, but the best looking brass was retained.) Originally, my intent was to use this brass for 300 blackout loads. However, I had been contemplating a "run & gun" for a while now and there is one coming up at the end of September that my son and I are going to shoot. The plandemic is the perfect time to shoot a bunch of unlimited round count stages, right? Well, as you may or may not be aware, ammunition is somewhat scarce, but reloading components are a bit easier to find. As I have this brass sitting around, I thought I would reload it instead of burning part of my stash. And, that brings me to my question... At the risk of starting a Ford vs Chevy level brand war, If you were going to reload brass with the expectation that it would not be recovered, is there a brand that you would be less covetous of?

Use it all. It's not bullseye.

You've got maybe two fulls cans there -- 2,000-ish rounds. It'll go fast.

You'll want stuff for practice and stuff pre-loaded for matches. You'll have empties that you haven't gotten to yet, and you'll lose some.

Since I was the only guy on the PD who reloaded... I got it all. 15 years of .223 and .40. All thoughtfully policed up, put in 5 gallon buckets and loaded into my truck. I can't count how much of each I have. It's somewhat mixed... whatever was cheapest that year. But run out? Ah ha ha a ha ha haa... never.
