I sent my 6 year old RCBS Chargemaster to RCBS with a check for $45 per their instructions to have the keypad data input problem fixed 2 weeks ago and today received a brand new Chargemaster via the brown truck.

It just does not get any better than that.

Re: RCBS Customer Service = Excellence

I tore up a decapping rod once to get a stuck case out (pre stuck case remover days) and they wouldn't let me pay for the replacement.
Then there was the time a buddy got me a Rock Chucker at a yard sale. It was missing the spent primer catcher. Told the story to RCBS CS and, once again, they would not let me pay for one.
They are possibly the best CS in the biz!

Re: RCBS Customer Service = Excellence

Have nothing but good to say for RCBS customer service. Every time something tore up or was broke, it was my fault, and they promptly sent me a replacement. They would not let me pay for it and it was my fault not theirs. Have Dillon Dies,Redding Dies and haven't had to use their C.S. to get replacement parts. Dillon C.S. was very helpful in answering my questions also.

Re: RCBS Customer Service = Excellence

RCBS really does have a great warranty , You know , Geissele Automatics is the same if not better. I busted the hammer my two stage match trigger , sent it back and later that week received a complete new unit with a takedown pin, oil, and a hat. It was pretty nice. They were really fantastic. Very friendly on the phone, quick to respond.

But Ha , i broke the decapping unit ( not just the decapping pin but the whole assembly , stuck a case , fucking nightmare as usual when you stick a case in a die) in a 50 bmg die from hornady , they replaced the broken parts but told me this was a one time only thing and won't be helping me out again. I offered to pay for the specific replacement parts but he made it sound like that wasnt an option. Not to mention i waited 45mintues on the phone before i got to talk to someone.

".. RCBS Chargemaster to RCBS with a check for $45 per their instructions to have the keypad data input problem fixed 2 weeks ago and today received a brand new Chargemaster.."

That's good and I'm happy for you. But, there are couple of messages in that.

One; those are 'throw-away' devices, hardly worth the time/cost for a trained electronics tech to repair them.

Two; your $45 check probably fully paid for your new one, if not the shipping as well.

Re: RCBS Customer Service = Excellence

Thats true Fuzzball.
How many throw away electronic devices do you know of that can be replaced after 6 years for a fraction of the purchase price?

I have spent twice as much on laptops computers, as much or more on cell phones and never had them replaced for that cheap when they took a crap.

It is no secret that most electronic devices a mfg for a fraction of the purchase.

The fact that RCBS dealt with the deal for a minimal cost and quick and efficient manner is the point. RCBS has excellent customer support and the same cannot be said for many of the vendors that we do business with.

There's always someone who wants to piss on someone else's parade. I think $45 for a new Chargemaster is not bad. Most companies (even Dillon) don't warranty electronics past one year. I once had a set of Peltor E muffs that started squealing. Their CS told me I could buy a new pair at retail, no help at all. They get the finger now instead of the wallet.
