so iv done all me reloading on a single stage and i dont mind it but it would be nice to have all the dies set-up in a turret press. does anyone use one of these without problems.
i guess my concerns would be with alignment and the turret head flexing.

thanks coby

Re: rcbs turret press ?

I have used the Lee turret press for 2 years now and 3000+ rounds later and zero problems. I can't comment on the RCBS press but I would imagine it would be good to go as well.

The Redding T-7 is solid.

this answers that question T7 all the way

Re: rcbs turret press ?

I started with a Lee turret press and it work okay but I sold it and bought the RCBS turret press and it is much better. It is a solid built press that has very little or no flex depending on what you are doing with it. The extra hole on the Redding has would be nice but the RCBS has served me well and I would recommend it based on my usage of it. I was talking with a guy that has or has seen the Redding press and if I remember correctly the bottom of their turrets are painted/coated as well, where the RCBS turrets are bare metal which he preferred. RCBS's warranty is also a plus but I hear that Redding's warranty isn't too bad either. Good luck on which ever one you decide on.

no coating on the bottom of a redding T7, if there was it would be a problem for the turret support

Re: rcbs turret press ?

Thanks kd185 for posting the picture of the Redding press, I don't know where the guy got his info from. If I was to start over and purchase another press I think I would seriously think about the Redding press.

Re: rcbs turret press ?

KD,
Do you run that press as a cheaper alternative to a progressive?
I'm asking because I see you run your powder thrower on it.
I've seen similar pics like it on this site.

Now at the risk of sounding like a total "ASSHOLE HAT", unless you're really strapped for room or space, I don't get it. Like I said, not trying to start anything, just enlighten me.
I even ground my primer attachmnt off, made it way gooder!

yes kind of an alternative to a progressive
kind of pressed on space, have 5 presses not enough bench top
PW/800C, Hollywood senior turret, Hollywood single stage, T7 & i just got a CH MK5
i just like to simplify things
i have several turrets for the T7
my 9mm turret has a home made bullet feeder in 1 station

I a big fan of turrets
i like to set my dies just right and not touch them

everyone does things differently for different reasons
wasn't for you to get

my newest press from 1989 lol
i think im going to modify the shell fedder and make it a progressive 223 press

Re: rcbs turret press ?

There is a quirk to the T7 that I've read about. Something to do with the turret being designed to float, and improper adjustment of the tension on the turret can create runout in the sized brass. I'll see if I can find the threads where I read about this. The press when properly adjusted is supposed to be capable of producing very concentric brass.

The turret head has a bushing, you can only tighten it so much, or it will be loose. I thought the press had a little flex to it also.

Re: rcbs turret press ?

well thanks guys, the things that heydave are talking about are the things i want to stay away from, just trying to stay as consistent as possible. has anyone had these issues with the t7

essential those are some bad boys, looks like you could stamp license plates with those suckers. and it looks like your using the pinch type locking rings for the dies. i just seen them the other day, do they work well.
thanks coby
