Currently back in graduate school and have one of those under bed slide out safes from snapsafe. It has me limited to a 20 inch barrel on my "do all" rifle.... A Suped up 700 ADL Sps tactical rifle. I "built" it so I could go hunting with my fraternity/ shoot at the local ranges in my time off (90 bucks for a 1K range 45 minutes from school)... Graduation is coming soon, and I am interested in planning my next steps. I'd like to go back to a 24 inch barrel, but I am not sure if I should just buy a 308 R700 5R barreled action or rebarrel the current action. This will probably be a year or 2 down the road once I get settled in again. Suggestions? I like the way the rifle is set up right now so I would like to stay in a 700 foot print. Looking at the longer barrel for some additional velocity...
