Reason to buy fixed Stock/ chassis over folding stock?

It seems now with today's technology that all folding chassis / stocks are just as rigid and solid as the one piece versions...

So would you all guess that moving forward most buyers will opt for the folding versions to make transport easier in the field or on the plane?

I think I will primarily be looking at folders for all my future builds.

Thoughts?

The extra cost usually isn't worth it since the folding mechanism rarely gets used, and it's just one more part to come loose or fail in the field. I've seen quite a few folding chassis systems come loose during a match. Most always carry an alan wrench set anyway but it's just one more thing to worry about.

Most have cases that fit the full rifle anyway so folding serves no real purpose there. If you're going for a backpack or truck gun you may use it enough to justify.
