Looking to buy a new Electronic Scale, have been using a PAC, forget the mod # is it has one and its at home, it never checks right on, anything better? I see Dillon has a
D-Terminator Electronic Scale, anybody use it or wanna recommended something? I tried the search feature but no luck finding a past thread.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

Old school balance beam scales is what I recommend, Scott Parker sells scales that he tunes, if you gotta have a electronic unit look for a MXX-123

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

Depends on how much you want to spend and how accurate you want them. If you want high accuracy to .02 grains, then look at the Accu-labs for ~$250. If you want .1 grains, then most good reloading scales (i.e.- not cheap) will work fine for ~$50 to ~$100.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

Ya, depends on what you want. For $300 the RCBS chargemaster is super-fast and very reliable, and accurate to about +-.1grains (about half that most of the time with an occasional measure going .1 gr off). For the ultimate in accuracy (and tedium) get an Acculab or Denver Instruments scale. I think the scales in the $150 and under range are garbage for the most part and would suggest using a balance beam instead.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

The RCBS Range Master is the only cheap digital scale I can recommend, I have most ever digital scale made for reloading and the only two that are consistent are the RCBS CM 1500 and RM 750, everything else from Pact, Hornady, Lyman are not worth the time or money.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

I've got a RCBS unit. Not a big fan of RCBS (think the are over marketed) but their scale is very good. Matches beam scale all the time. Prefer Reddings manual dispensers.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

I have no problems or have I ever had anything go wrong with my lyman XP.
Just dont use your cell phone or cordless land line around them. It makes them goofy.

Re: Recommendations for an Electronic Scale

I personally use a Chargemaster and then back that up with a VIC 123 for the precision long range stuff. Works for me!
