I was replacing the X Mark Pro trigger on my Rem 700 police. I didn't see were a spring came from. The spring is about 7/16 long and 1/8 diameter. Where did it come from? The gun went back together and will dry fire (with snap caps).

What do I torque at action down at?

Re: Rem 700 trigger help

Sounds like the sear spring.

Factory specs for torque with factory bottom metal is 45 to 50 inch pounds but most will use 65 but if you do you are in danger of splitting the bottom metal at the screw hole.

Not every rifle likes a specific torque value and some don't even like the same value for both screws.

After looking at a few diagrams. The sear spring is the only thing it could be.
