Rem 700 worn out firing pin?

So, in my last prairie dog outing I had a few light primer strikes, and a few duds from some factory ammo. I disassembled the bolt To inspect it and it looks odd. I have 1000 to 1500rds on it. Maybe more...

If you reassemble the bolt and rotate the bolt to drop the firing pin, how far does it protrude from the bolt face?

I will have to look at it when I get back home. I am out of town for a couple days. It’s hard to tell in the picture but the very end of the firing pin is rounded off and has a groove in it or something.

Looks like you are piercing primers and gas has melted end of firing pin.

That is what I was thinking.... I mainly shoot factory ammo , only a few book reloads but I’ll pay attention to primers when I reload to find some pierced primers....
