Been trying to chase down something here. Are there any differences in the recievers between those used for the factory detachable magazine and the standard BDL? Can the BDL be used in a rifle that previously had the factory DBM or will I need to use another type of DBM system?

Re: Rem factory DBM vs. BDL

The factory DBM action does not have the feed rails...they are built into the magazine.
You cannot use a DBM action and convert it to BDL.

Had a BDL Varmint Synthetic that i put a DBM setup (DBM bottom metal and a lot of hogging out on aluminum stock - Nothing done to rails or action) into, got the feed angle set and it worked good.

Re: Rem factory DBM vs. BDL

You guys need to reread RHutch's post again. He said (and is correct) that you cant use a factory DBM receiver with a BDL bottom metal! he never said the vise versa was true.

Factory DBM receivers do not have feedlips built in, they use the feed lips on the magazine itself, so no, you cant use a BDL bottom metal on a factory DBM receiver, you need some kind of a DBM bottom metal.

Factory BDL reveivers have feedlips built in, so you can use either a DBL floorplate or a DBM setup.
