DOES THIS HAVE THE 5R RIFLING? AND WOULD THIS BE A BETTER CHOICE THAN THE 700P FOR A STARTING POINT OF A LONG RANGE STEEL/GAME GETTER? I DO LIVE ON THE WETSIDE OF WASHINGTON STATE; SO THE THE STIANLESS IS A GOOD IDEA I THINK- THANKS VAN

I believe the stock is different too. The regular tac model has the Hogue black overmolded stock and I believe this one has the green overmolded stock.

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS=( So do we think one would be more accurate then the other as the stocks are the same but the rifling is different? thanks VAN

your really stuck on the 5R rifling.. as I stated in the OTHER 700 AAC thread, Thhe diffrence in twist is 1-10" for the AAC and 1-11.25" for the 5R (also a diffrent rifling cut that is suppose to be superior) ANYWAYS... you playing the long range game? Your asking about a 700P.. those are 1-12" unless your talking about some wierd stainless 5R 700P that Remmy is trying to get rid of. Your going to probably want the stick that can stabalize the heavier bullets to stay supersonic at extended ranges, that would be your faster twist barrels. 5R would work, but the 1-10" seems like it can handle some of the heavier pills with ease.
Some guys use their 1-12" to launch the heavies but no one will tell you that YOUR 1-12" will definitely do the same... Id vote for the AAC especially if you want to run a can on it. If not, then the longer 5R rifle will suit you just fine.

Also, how long are these barrels throated. The reason throat length matters is that on SOME rifle barrels, loading a long cartridge (OAL) results in signifigantly tighter groups. And if you have a long throat, your long cartridge won't fit in the magazine.

It actually kinda neat looking
The one on the wall at impact guns has a marbled "McMillan-esque" hogue stock (black/grey/white/drab green)
I wasnt a fan of the barrel thread cover though. It's milling matches absolutely nothing on the rifle, nor does it match the barrels profile.
Other than that, it looks neat. I held it/fondled the action a little and didnt have anything negative. (I'm still not a fan of remington)
