i had a remington 1187 a while back and i loved it other then the fact you had to hit that little lever to unlock the "trap" to load rounds into it, well some one told me you can take it out, the bolt wont lock back but you will be able to load rounds into it like you would an 870, is this true ?

i know that remington makes a compitition model where it has a longer lever, and i also know about the extended lever that midway sells. what else can be done to this shotgun to fix that little lever thing i hate it so much, a perfectly good gun is runed because of that stupid little bolt release thing

Re: remington 1187 question

As far as the factory setup, they've used that design forever. For a bird gun or busting clays it works. For loading in a hurry or on the run it's a PITA. I'm not too sure about modifying the factory lever but the extended one is really popular in 3Gun. I think that's the one you're talking about from Midway.

ya cant think of who makes it never tried it, but i seen a gun on sturmgewehr that didnt even have that lever ( like an 870 no little bolt release lever ) vary slick
