ok so ive been wanting to change my designated hunting rifle to a range machine. .308 obviously has more than its fair share of problems out to range so my thought is a .260 because all i need is a barrel change and while im doing that im going to upgrade to a varmint barrel and a b&c tactical medalist. has anyone had any experience with this conversion or foresee any problems?

No problems here other than brass quality is not as good (without some work). I'm sure I don't need to say it, but take the time to have the action trued, replace the lug, etc. Your appreciate it in the end. I really enjoy my .260.

I would consider Norma and Nosler pretty good and they require very little work.

i had my 700 converted from .308 to 260 with out any problems. +1 on having the action trued, replacing the lug ect. Quality brass is easily made by running 7mm-08 through a fl sizer. Your going to love 260

I asked the same question earlier. Get your gun trued for sure and buy a nice barrel. Shoot the hell outa it. The 260 is an upgrade and wish I had the money to fund it.
