I have a chance to buy a Remington 700 AWR 300 win mag!

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this rifle? It has never been fired in perfect condition with a mcmillian stock and a factory muzzlebreak.
I have not seen the rifle yet. I have only been told about it by my uncle.

I'm just trying to get a feel for the rifle since it seems I am having a hard time finding much about this rifle searching the Internet. It is the first version I assume, because he says it is not the current AWR 2 version. It does come from the custom shop and he said the muzzle break was an option added when ordered from Remington, not standard!

Any feed back would be great.

Thanks guys,

Dan

Re: Remington 700 AWR info

Remington seems to be trying to reposition the whole custom shop line. Custom Shop prices have doubled over the last 3 years. I don't believe that the rifles they are building today are worth 2-3 times what they were charging in 2007. If I could find a used, older AWR (not stamped Remington Custom Shop on the bbl) for a fair price, I would give it a whirl. It would probably be a good shooter and I could get out of it with my shirt still on but, I would damn sure not pay to much for one of these. It's not an AWR2 and it's not a collector. Five years ago, these rifles sold new for a little more than what a new Sendero costs today.

Anything from the Remington custom shop is overpriced like ^^^ said. If you want to spend money like that go custom or just buy a lower grade Rem and upgrade.

You're not going to make that much that it's worth a ton of hassle. Plus buying and selling for profit technically makes you a dealer without an FFL, so watch out doing that too often or you may have the atf knocking at your door.

I'd probably pay $800, let me know if you pass on the deal, with a little more info I might spring for it and find something in my box of goodies to send you as a finders fee

PM me if you pass on it and the seller is willing to ship.
