I have tried several loads on my Remington 700 LTR (.308) with my best load (on the lands) which is too long for the magazine. If I shorten the overall length, I loose accuracy. Anyone have any suggestions or sucessful loads for LTR .308?

Re: Remington 700 LTR

If shooting Matchkings, they are tolerant of jumping to the lands. I have always had good luck with 44.5 gr Varget and a 168 SMK.

Re: Remington 700 LTR

In my LTR I run book COL and a 178gr a-max over 44.5 rl-15 in a Hornady Match brass with a BR2 primer. Not sure on the jump but I know it's no where near the lands.

Re: Remington 700 LTR

for me I run IMR 4895 with the 175smk I get 2659 avg out of the 20" ltr tube

Re: Remington 700 LTR

Berger 175 OTMs/Lapua brass/44.5 gr. Varget/BR2 primers has shot well out of the LTR @ mag length. So has 165 gr. Accubonds as high as 45.5 gr Varget with same brass/primer.
