Remington 700 R5 300WM scope base question?

What scope mount base screws does the Remington 700 R5 300WM require,
8-40 or 6-48?

Should be the standard 6-48.

I have the same gun and put the Murphey Presiopn SS base on, came with standard 6-48.

I agree with the 6-48. I lost mine and had to get replacement ones from badger.
