Remington moving to Georgia

I wonder if the Lagrange location is where they're going. It appears to be close to the Alabama border, so I imagine a lot of their employees will live in Alabama where the taxes are better.

Finally gunmakers are getting smart.

Leave the liberal cesspool and also deny them the tax revenue.
Now only if voter would do the same. If just the California conservatives moved to purple states it would make elections unwinnable for Dems(aside from serious cheating, a lot worse than last time ).

NO! Voters moving always want to bring home programs with them. They need to stay & fix the shit they helped create, not import it else where. Here in Bama we have been inundated with that kind of shit, which lead to more than a few of them having to be tuned up, before they moved out. Fuck them, they shit their bed then thought they would come here and start it all over again, ain't going to happen.

You just described how they'll never wise up and fix the shit sandwiches they created. They're a cancer and that's all they'll ever be.

As a lifelong resident of warshington state, they've pretty much completed their mission here.

Bullshit. California is not fixable. It is enemy territory along with NY, and IL. Anyone staying there is absolutely wasting their vote and funding the enemy through taxes and purchases. Maybe with a strong conservative federal government we can start to rein them in. But until then they are literally screwing the rest of us. Even the bible tells us to flee evil to fight another day, not keep supporting it and then do nothing but complain.

I’m glad they are finally waking up - or some of them are and moving out of commie states. Me and my training partner were just talking about this - other than CMMG and Palmetto State we couldn’t come up with other large gun companies that gave lots of money to and actually fights for 2A rights . Might be more but I couldn’t think of them . Barrett maybe ?
But many such as colt S&W and Springfield have routinely stabbed their loyal consumers in the back.

The problem is they are taking their politics with them…..

So in the middle of a fight you just pack up & leave? Many of us are not built that way, if we were we would be surrendering to the fucks moving in & that is not going to happen.

I seem to remember Barrett was bought by an Australian Defense contractor and it was said at the time that they weren't interested in civilian sales (or the 2A). That is, IIRC........

So, if the above is true/accurate, Barrett probably isn't on the "contributor's" list.

You are correct now that you mention it . So back to just 2 that put their money where their mouth is .

Where do you see a fight? There is no fight in these places, just crushing defeat. There is zero possibility of turning it around there from the inside. And most of the people that move to conservative states get why they are moving(aside from Texas where Abbot is lurking liberals to ruin the state). Look at FL. Half of NY lives there now and the Dems can't win a precinct. It used to be the most expensive swing state

I try to remind people of this every time I see a dog pile on PSA. They actually support the cause

When you run out of ammo...yes. During the recall of Newscum, it was reported that the northern (redneck) counties voted against the recall. Really? That was the final confirmation that I needed showing that the elections were rigged in California, the roads are full of potholes, gas is expensive, overrun by illegals, and the schools suck...I lived there for almost 40 years, it was time to leave.

New location is only 30mi from me. It's been being talked about for a couple of years but no real news and seemed in limbo until the recent announcement. Google earth shows they've already got an 80,000ft building and have cleared for up to 1,000,000ft of additional construction which is probably already underway.

Colt has always hated the average citizen as a customer. The average citizen is just a fallback in between sweet military contracts.

Remmington sucks. How many times has it changed hands? Every time they're aquired it seems the quality goes even lower.

I bought a bull barrel, shorty, SPS, .308 off a buddy (he needed money), and I didn't even look at it. When I got home I found the barrel was catywumpus in the stock from the factory bad. It's shot fine (for a short barrel .308), but the quality control must be non-existent.

However, anything that hurts the slave states is fine by me. They won't have a single arms manufacture by Breakin' II.

It is really the owners of the company, if you see any company owned by _________ Investment group, you know they are going to milk every dime out of it. Does not matter what they make, it will be crap.

Last November it was announced it was LaGrange, GA to us Georgians.

I'm shocked to see that's from yesterday because not only is it not new news, even the headline is old? Is Fox News just copying other sources from a while ago?

I couldn’t imagine ever buying anything Remington ever again…EVER.

I wouldn't characterize the fight for California as being in the middle. It's not even a fight at this point. More like a sportsball game blowout and everyone is heading to the exits before the game is actually over. Aside from the bright spot that is Judge Benitez, California is damn near a failed State. Failed from an actual American citizenry standpoint, not from the commie/socialist useful idiots view.

If you always play your enemy's game by their rules, you will never win anything. Hidden cameras, Public records & a soapbox as brought down many a so called locked in, tick.

Agreed. But I think a strategic regroup now and again is not a bad idea.

An aside, democrat cities need to be walled in. Let them out if they agree to follow the law. Swift Corporal and Capital punishments set as the new standard.

You should…. How bout we support the new company. I’ve looked over several new Remington rifles and shot them, they r top notch. This isn’t the old Remington…

maybe they will start making stuff that is worth a shit. doubt it. the "old " remington was 50s-80s and stuff was good. now? unlikely. new factory.new loc, prob a bunch of new people. their QC would have to quintuple what it has been and that is not seeming profitable as that is a huge cost in production. i had a kaw 900 in the 70s. had 0 problems. harleys were a POS and only sold because of their "cool biker" story. they tanked, then the employees bought it out and made it good again. have a harley fanatic friend and he says they are again overpriced, unreliable, poorly made garbage with no CS.

remington, harley, bushmaster to name a few. yea, when some conglm buys a co out, they fire everyone with long standing experience and cut cost wherever else they can. spend more on advertising though and throw stock options on the pile to compensate "management".

Folks leaving the dark blue states somewhat resemble the supposed reason the folks give who are invading the southern border. My thought, wash your own dirty underwear, don’t bring it elsewhere and expect it to get washed (or accepted as dirty)

RemArms. I was privileged to handle a Wood Stocked BDL and synthetic stocked ADL. The ADL felt kind of common, nothing to write home about, maybe better or not better than a Ruger American. The BDL was finely finished, very, very close in appearance and feel to the Remington’s of the 1960’s and 1970s. It was nice. Not sure if I would recommend purchasing a RemArms product, but the BDL I examined appeared to be a really nice, mid priced rifle.

Serious question...
Is Georgia really that much better than New York?
Why not South Dakota or Idaho?

hope you are right. to me howa,cz,tikka are the way to go. even a cheesey savage. i never saw any of those that wouldn't shot at or above price point. win, browning and several "newish" high priced rifles are not generating rave reviews that i have seen. actually, winchester also screwed the pooch after about '80 or so. multiple bought/sold and cheapening production moves. yea,am a fan boy of the pre '64 70 even though couldn't afford them then or now. have seen and shot several. they are the tikka of the old days IMHO.

Way back when I was playing hand gun games I wanted to run a 1911, hay you should know by now I am a hard core Fudd.

Well I don't want to put one of my vintage guns through that, so I went looking. I wanted something cheap, so I am not going to buy a multi thousand $$$ 1911....I am thinking $900 tops. Rock Island had a pretty good reputation at the time....this has to be at least 10 years ago I am guessing. But the slides had in great big white letters that stupid rock island logo and the name on it. I don't want a bill board on the slide. So that was a hard no.

Remington had just come out with the R1, so that should put the time frame whenever that was. I am ok, I will get one of those, I want to say it was $600 out the door.

Again I am not going to be dropping my vintage mags on the concrete floor and knowing me stepping on them, or the guy chasing me with the timer.....so I want some new mags. I bought two "good" mags, the gun came with two, so I only needed one more. Ok I will use my most crappy "vintage" mag.

I went to a gun show and there was a guy selling 1911 mags for $5 a pop. The single cheapest chineseium mags I have ever seen, these things are LIGHT and thin. What kind of deal will you make me if I buy 5 of them. $20, I was thinking more like $10. We met in the middle at $15.

I ran that gun, box stock and those cheap mags for the entire season. I never once cleaned the gun....not once. Its nose was so dirty and black I took endless shit because of it. I just want to see how bad it will get before it would start to have issues. I had only one failure to fire, and I think that was the round. It never had any other problem. Those cheap mags as well, they just flat worked. Everyone was amazed. The "fancy" 1911 guys took the thing apart after every round, I just locked the slide stuck it in the holster and visited.

I did not finish first, I never will, but I did not finish last. Bottom third, but I was happy with that, and I had not played the game before. Most of the time it was shot with winchester white box ammo as well. I was not reloading 45 at the time....and just saved all the brass I could.

If I was going to play that game again, and me being the fudd that I am I think I would do one in 38 super. That would fit with my outlook on things.

Just put that in there to say, there are some good things during those years that came out of remington, the new R51 was not one of them.

I do admit however I have a soft spot for Remington, the little black one is named Remington, the white one is Willow.
