Remington Trigger Question

I have a tuned old school Remington trigger in my GAP 300 WM. It has a fantastic, crisp, clean break right @ 3.0 lbs. Call me crazy but, I would like a tiny bit of felt trigger movement when I fire the rifle (I'm thinking adding some over travel would work). The trigger is tuned to the point of absolutely no perceptible movement whatsoever. It's basically placing your finger on the trigger, start increasing pressure and bang. I guess I'm use to my AIAE 2 stage trigger, Geissele AR triggers, and even my single stage Timney AR triggers have a tiny bit of movement & overtravel. Is there any way to adjust this trigger to have even 2-3mm's of movement? When I place my trigger gauge on the trigger it appears that it moves literally 1mm total when I dry fire it, any advise or suggestions are appreciated.

I hate to tell you this, but that trigger is doing what it was desinged to do perfectly now. If you're wanting a two stage trigger, get one. You say you're use to two stage triggers, then you know that the first stage is very smooth, and you know when and where it stops the second stage starts. By adding creep to a one stage trigger in an attempt to create the feel of two stages won't work all that well. The short answer you're looking for is that it can be adjusted to do this, but again, it won't work well. Just my opinion.

My advice would be sell the rem factory trigger and get a two stage. Trying to make a single feel like a two stage is a lost cause.

Thank you guys for the feedback...I think I will shop around for a 2 stage trigger. I've heard about the Huber & CG Jackson 700 triggers - which one?

Both are at the top of the food chain. Might try to find a match and see if you can beg and shoot both. Either will serve you well, personal preference only, CG I really like. No experience with Huber, but nothing but positives from some very experienced shooters.

Canjar is another to look for if you can find one. They are no longer made, but from what I understand, they were top notch.
