I have 200 rounds or so from a previous rifle, load is for a 308, they had been loaded for a tight chambered GAP AI AE with a COL of 2.800 using Berger VLDs. I have since sold the rifle and picked up a Rem PSS with the factory 1/12 26" barrel, which should push the 155s well. Here is the issue, the throat on the PSS is very long and it doesnt shoot the 155s seated @ the current 2.800".
This morning I chucked the cases up in a Frankford Arsenal bullet puller and gave each round a light tap pulling the bullet partially out, the plan is to rest them at 2.810-2.820 and see how they shoot. Question is, has anyone tried this and had good luck or any issues? My concern is uneven neck tension after resetting the bullet seating depth without runing the neck thru the bushing die and then reseating.
