I respect your opinion but it's not really fair to lump in all cops with people like that. For every arrogant shithead there is a level headed regular guy. There are criminals in every cut of cloth. It's the unfortunate truth of the world. Civilian police agencies are no exception.

I don't think he was lumping them all in. He did say that "The shitty part is those sorry FUCKS make real cops sick!". I think that it is a very small minority of cops that do that but it sure makes the whole establishment look bad.
Out here in San Diego we had a CHP officer murder a girl I went to high school with. He was even shown on TV trying to "find the killer". Of course later on several other pretty young girls came forward and said that CHP had pulled them over in the same area that her body was found. Then the evidence came in. Like the rope in his cruizer with her DNA on it and the scratch hey had under a band aid you could see on the news episode he did to try and catch the killer. He just came up for parole and luckily there were enough people who still remember Craig Peyer and he was turned down. This gave the CHP a HUGE black eye at the time for just that one bad apple. It was bad enough that they were telling people that they did not have to stop for flashing red lights and they could keep driving until they got off the highway and into a populated area or they could drive to a police station before they had to actaully stop! It was a wierd time for sure.

There's always someone that has something to say about their personal experience with a dirt bag cop (true or not nobody will every know) then in comes the hoard.
I try not to let it get to me because I know I'm a law abiding person with integrity and I treat everyone I contact with dignity and respect (even the criminals) and so are all the guys that I work with. 90% of people thank me after I contact them, that's including ones that get no ticket, a ticket, or a trip to jail.
It's unfortunate that people spread garbage about the profession and try to sway people's opinions based on someone else's experience (once again whether it's true or not).

I am an Officer in California only because I've been here all my life. I love California, the weather, the land, the ocean, everything about it... except the politicans and thier nanny state laws. I know, some people will say, "Why dont you move?" but heres the thing... If I ran away from every difficult fight, moved every time a law was passed that I didnt agree with, eventually, there would be no place left to go. So I stay, vote with my conscience, and do my best to introduce others to the shooting sports. Remember, most liberal gun haters have never fired a shot in thier life. Take one of them shooting. They might like it and you will have furthered the cause. I dont have the luxury of even getting to purchase weapons for use, as all of my weapons are issued and belong to the department, I dont even have the option to buy one or even check one out. Sucks.

It occurs to me, that if each and every single LEO stood up and said,"We shall no longer enforce unconstitutional law as applied to firearms" There would be no laws that are repugnant to the Constitution and the Second Ammendment in California. Sure the libs could scream bloody hell, but without support a law is nothing more than a pen stroke on paper that holds no value or worth. An unsound and invalid law is even more worthless.
With that said, it is up to each and every single LEO who knows what the right thing to do is, and stand the hell up and do the right thing. What, you only enforce the law...bullshit. Bad excuses are like assholes and only assholes give bad excuses. Now either place yourself in Group A and stand up, or be part of Group B...asshole
