Guys.
Here is a piece I have cobbled together.
The objective was a 1911 that maintained a lot of the looks of an older gun, yet with practical modern touches that would make it easy to manipulate and shoot well.
The Springfield Armory base gun has had a few alterations, with more to come. I had a long term disaster of an experience with a certain smith, who FUBARed a couple of things, but I am now back on track.
Anyways..
It has:
Small tabbed thumb safety
Old pre WWII steel trigger
Bullseye type hammer
National Match fitted bushing
Kings Hardball rear sight
Wilson front sight
Beavertail (standard grip safety causes me to bleed every time)
Lowered (just enough to eject live rounds and not mangle brass)ejection port
It still needs a couple of things, but overall it turned out pretty decent.
