Revic has some new information up on their website - http://www.revicoptics.com/product/pmr-smart-scope-rifle/. Taking orders for their first scope (MOA version) and scheduled to ship in October. Based on their chart the spec's look ever so close to the Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56 that it makes me wonder if the same company that makes the Vortex is also making the Revic, but considering how well the Gen II has been received and it's continued track record I'd say that's a good thing. For those expecting glass like Schmidt, Tangent or Minox it is doubtful that will happen, but again the Gen II typically holds it's own. I'll wait for the Mil version myself but I'm really curious to see how well that HUD works for early adopters of the MOA version. For those who don't know about Revic, Chris Thomas is the Vice President of Operations, and for those who don't know Chris, he was the President of Premier Reticles and one of the Founders of the Optronika group that built the amazing Premier Heritage scopes that Minox has recently acquired for their ZP5 line of scopes, these scopes and their cousin (Tangent Theta) represent some of the best glass that can be had in a sport optic today so I am excited to see what Revic can bring to the industry.

Sounds like a really great concept... hopefully it comes with a lifetime warranty with real financial backing... or at least 10 years or something.

Curious if Revic has any ties to military/LE or if civilian sales are their only source at this time. I'd really like to see them succeed. I wonder who's getting early versions for review.

So a friend and I were shooting yesterday and got into talking about the future of rifle scopes and where the new technology is heading. We were both trying to figure the pros and cons of this new Revic and we both were of the same conclusion that we would rather have a Sig Kilo 2400 that can pretty much do exactly what this scope can do without having the electronics subjected to repeated recoil of the rifle. Also this scope doesn't have a built in LRF so you still need to find your range somehow and how are you going to do that......probably with a LRF so if that is the case the Sig 2400 can pretty much instantly tell you what elevation to dial in either mils or moa. The only thing your really doing when using this scope is dialing in your range in yards or meters instead of dialing in your range in mils or moa. Also going the Sig 2400 or any other LRF that can do what it can you are not limited to one rifle one scope with the ability to instantly give you a ballistic solution. I am not trying to be a naysayer or negative Nancy, but this scope is missing the crucial piece of the puzzle and that is a built in LRF and even if it did would you want to point a rifle at every thing you would want to range?

I looked through one last weekend in Cody, Wy. I shot on a squad with Aaron Davidsons twin sons. He brought the scope out at lunch time and let anybody take a look at/through it. It was pretty impressive, to say the least. The electronics do peak my interest, and it had a lot of options you could scroll through with the menu buttons on the side where the parallax/Illumination would be on the razor gen 2. The heads up display was awesome and the quick easy zero adjustment blew my mind. It had a very clean reticle for hunting in it at the moment. He ask what kind of reticle we'd like to see in it for the future. I responded with somewhere in-between the Vortex erb-2c and the sig dev-L ritecle. It was bought up that you would need some sort of range finder mounted to the gun(Radius/wilcox?) or a hand held unit. I would love to pre-order but, I'd like to see what kind of reticle they develop?

Interesting indeed. I hope the next Generation would have a built-in LRF. Also, why the windage knob has no built in encoder? Do you hold for windage using the reticle?
