I was really hesitant to write a review or post about the gun because I hadn't shot it much and I don't do the rifle justice most of the time.

This is was my first custom rifle. I started out with a Savage LRP and DPMS in 6.5 creedmoor. Both were good guns and they served me well. There was some quirks about the LRP I didn't like, mainly the stock and the slow barrel. I kept hearing about one of my fathers friend Wallace was building badass accurate rifles.*

Fast forward a little bit, I wasn't sure what I wanted but I couldn't find a Rem 700 SA for sale anywhere. I called Cole @ Rifleworx and he suggested a Surgeon action with a Krieger 8 Twist in 6.5 Creedmoor. Great I had somewhat of a game plan. I ended up emailing Kyle at XLR and he had a blemished XLR for a 591. Great! I got all my parts together and sent them to Cole and Wallace. It started out as a bare bones build but as I made more money upgraded the parts list as time went along. Decided to go with a Timney trigger as they are cheaper and can be run dirtier than a jewel. Mounted a 5-22 NSX in 1.4 Badger rings on it.

Fast forward a little longer the build is almost done and I got short barrel fever. I was going to hunt with the gun and tote it around and a 28" MTU isn't a very handy weight gun. So I got them to spin up a second barrel in 308 as its readily available(not now but at the time it was built) and fairly cheap. Wanted it 18-20 with a threaded barrel for supressor and a effective brake that isn't too concussive to use as a thread protector when a supressor isn't on it. I also got them to duracoat the gun in a cool camo and let them choose whatever they wanted. Then I got the call that the gun was done and went and picked it up got to talking and learned a lot. What the gun likes doesn't like how it shoots and what not. (Cole shot it in the .3s with 140 factory amax ammo and in the .1s with 140amax hand loads) Learned a ton more stuff than that as these guys are a wealth of knowledge and great shooters as well.

Fastforward all through this winter as my range was under water from November till early March. Started shooting again and loved the gun because it could shoot amazing when I could shoot amazing, but disliked it when I didnt shoot well and I couldn't blame the gun. Shot it some more and decided to change some stuff around like scope and rings. Gun still shoots really well with about 250rds down the long pipe. I still don't do the gun justice with my shooting ability but I'm getting better.*

Anyways if your looking at getting some gunsmithing done I would highly reccomend checking out Cole and Wallace at Rifleworx in Bath NC. Last time I asked there were only couple weeks out on small jobs and 3 months out on a full build.

Nice setup and some great shooting! I'm still waiting on my 'smith to finish up with my build.

Great looking stick and awesome coating . They really did a great job. Looks like it's a shooter.

Regards,
Paul

sweet rifle. i like the camo. man, i really want a 6.5cm! maybe one of these days!

Thanks guys, All I have shot up to this point is factory Hornady 140 AMAX. I have never reloaded until now. I hope my reloading skills will help tighten up groups and maybe I can push them a little faster. I am only getting 2760 with the 28". Its getting ready to get a steady diet of 140 AMAX or some 140 Hybrids. (3GSS has 49 boxes in stock!)

I have yet to get the stock adjusted to where I love it yet. I just need to keep tweaking till I get it right.
