Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

I've since pulled the spigot & arca rail section off the front end, and swapped in a silver Kidd trigger group & his scalloped bolt. Ran ~ 200 rounds of Norma Tac-22 40gr for barrel break in. Kidd heavy (3lb) fluted, threaded bull barrel (Super Grade.)

Nothing to brag about @ 50, but # 12 was a super nice group. 6, 9,10 & 11 all had fliers.. go figure. I'm sure this rig is capable of doing this all day long, once I get the right ammo in her.

Please do not jump on me for this question as I would like to know the answer.

Why are so many members willing to spend BIG money on building a 10/22 when very good bolt action guns like the Voodoo's are available?
I'm doing a 10/22 cause I can't swing a voodoo and cz doesn't make a lefty anymore. Plus I can throw a dot on and do steel challenge.
Just debating between a bxr, 10/22 comp or tacsol xring. Either way it'll get a timney Calvin elite and krg chassis. Or something close to my mpa chassis.
Nice rifles fellas

I can't find Travelor's post. but..

Why the big $$$ investment in the 10/22 platform? For me it's just a stubborn idea in my head to get one that shoots lights out like a bolt gun. I realize Voodoo is the way to go, but I started years ago doing 10/22's (mostly Kidd) and never looked back. Plus the fact semi-auto is fun doing double / triple taps. :D

In all seriousness, you're right. Voodoo and done. But I'm so far into the 10/22 world I'll just stick with it. I don't compete, I'm just having fun.

17/22 Swager built on Brno Model 1 action and PAC-Nor .172 barrel. 17-inches, 1:8 twist. Athlon Helos BTR 1-12x42 gen 2 in SWFA rings and on DIP 25-MOA base. KKC laminated stock with 9-inch picatinny rail and butt and comb adjustments. Glass and pillar bedded.
the rifle will shoot any high or hyper velocity 22lr ammunition with a bullet 36grs. or lighter. Prefers Federal 724, Remington Yellowjacket, and Armscor Precision HVHP. Has produced some MOA groups at 100 yards on occasion. This one hunts.

Is it required to shoot w/ you pack on?
No. I was just messing around and only a few minutes to play with the rifle before I had to report to another part of the facility to teach a handgun class. I packed my stuff in from the parking lot and just did not take it off while we got the photos. This was not a match. Just a photoshoot.

Thank you.

It’s a 22” MTU profile. ATS Tuner and SilencerCo Sparrow
Thank you for the info! I love my ACC but the 18" barrels come up just a tad short of clearing the fore end. Now I know what I need!

I’m not gonna lie. I loved the look when I had the 18”. But with the sparrow on it. I just wanted a longer barrel to help with balance. And I went with a 12” twist.

Sheesh, I kinda forgot what's on this rig, let me try my best:
10/22 Factory Receiver
10/22 Factory Bolt (until Black Kidd Bolts come in stock again)
All Kidd Bolt Internals (springs, bolt buffer/stop, etc.)
Kidd Charging Handle
4.5" Beyer Bull Barrel
Tyrant Arms Mod Grip
Crazy Ivan Skeletonized Chassis
Odin Works 5.5" Forend
SBA3 Brace
Ruger BX Trigger
BX25 Magazine
Pike Arms Billet Trigger
Pike Arms Fake Suppressor (while mines behind bars still, would be tough to shoot with the 4.5" barrel way inside the handguard LOL)
Strike Industries Link Anchor Handstop
Vortex Crossfire Red Dot
Battleworn Burnt Bronze Cerakote

I think that's all....can't wait to shoot this with my can on it
Might want to delete this before your dog gets shot.

Just did the initial piecing together of this Kidd Supergrade. Yeah I know... That height over bore is going to give me a nice cozy... Chin weld.
Beyond that, plan to add a couple more things here and there then shake it down at a local Appleseed event before joining all of you at some NRL22/PRS Rimfire matches!

If you buy just a receiver (not a complete rifle), it's registered as a "Frame or Receiver", so you can make it either/or. It's all about configuration based on "intent". Buying a 10/22 receiver is no different than buying an AR15 lower. If you install a barrel shorter than 16", it better have no stock, or a brace. If it's barrel is 16" or longer, you can put a brace or a stock.

I Know that's why Ruger labeled the Charger .Same with the contenders .But years ago Remington made the XP100 .Some shooters made 700 actions into silhouette pistols . So now you must have the the origional receiver designated as a pistol not to get into trouble ,Went down that road it wasn't fun back in the 1980's
NICE SETUP MSTN

If it starts as a rifle it is always a rifle. If it starts as a receiver or pistol it can be changed back and forth. T/C has an exception for the Encore and Contender guns.

His and her's Savage Mark II in Boyds At One stock. (Bet your ass mine’s the pink. Nahhh mine’s the green. I thought about it though.) Group was shot with mine but the wife’s shot a very similar group as well. We took them out to 200 yards with an 8” plate and had too much success. Gotta get a smaller plate.

A good friend had seen a nice CMP M52D in a Doan Trevor prone stock made of some nice claro walnut for sale, and sent me a link to it. Doan is a friend who made a sporter stock for another 52D for me out of a nice English walnut blank, and finished a very nice English walnut blank that Steve & Shirley McGee had duplicated for me in their 'Trudy' pattern for one of my BAT 3L rifles. The stock on this particular 52D was duplicated from a H&H prone stock, which made it particularly attractive to me, since I've got three LR prone rifles in Robertson H&H stocks, which is one of my favorite prone stock patterns. Long story short - I wound up buying this 52D, and after robbing a Ken Viani rail off another CMP 52D, shot it prone with a few lots of Eley Match, which shot some very nice 50yd prone groups. Though this is a fairly modern prone rifle, I wanted a vintage scope for it, and mentioned that to the same friend who'd put me onto the rifle in the first place. This guy absolutely loves to help his friends spend their money on gun stuff, and is actually pretty darned good at it - it took him less than a week to find a very nice Unertl 16x 1-1/2" target scope on GB, and now it's on this rifle, which I think adds some class to a good shooting 52D. Forgot to mention that someone had modified the trigger in much the same way as Karl Kenyon did when he was still living, and it's a very decent & easy to shoot unit. The only thing I don't care for on the stock is that the original owner had specified that Doan cut the butt shorter than usual and make a buttplate that would accept Anschutz butt accessories. It's trick if you don't mind paying $$$ for that hardware, but honestly, I'd have preferred the butt had been left long and just outfitted with a McGee or Tubb 3-way buttplate. I've got a Tubb 3-way butt, which looks funky on the stock because of the way it was shortened, so will be looking around for some Anschutz hardware.

On most all receivers that is 100% true but KIDD, since forever, has always designated their receivers as a rifle on any and all paperwork. Incuding what they record to the ATF. They are the only place I know of that has ever done this. Over on RFC.Com it has been discussed and proven. Now, if KIDD has changed that designation then it was only recently and many will be happy they did.

Call KIDD and ask em for the facts.

I Called KIDD It i how you regsiter it with the A.T.F .
But how do you show proof if the receiver is not MARKED
Some AR RECEIVERS Are marked
I could be WRONG
