Rifle Scopes ring mounting?

I bought a set of Super Sniper rings to mount my Leupold with. My Rem 700 ADL had a set of Weaver style bases on it that I planned to use, until I got the rings and realized that the "cross bolt" in the ring mount is to wide for the slot in the bases. I went to Academy Sports thinking a newer set of bases would have the correct slot, but no dice. I looked on SWFA and Super Sniper doesn't offer a base. What base do I need? If I can find a base that moves it closer to the action by even an 1/8" would be great too.

those are for a Rem 700 correct? I want to make sure all the holes line up so make sure its secure.

I have actually learned enough where I can contribute. The SS rings you got are probably set up for a Picatinny base. A Picatinny base's slots are wider than Weavers. Best way to look at it is a weaver ring will fit a picatinny base, but picatinny rings will not fit a weaver base.

I figured this out today. I have to send the SS rings back because they do not have a 2piece picatinny base for the Rem 700.
so I am sending them back and think I will go with the TPS rings
