Has anyone ever used a riser to lift your scope up on a DTA ? My S&B is in NEar rings. I hate to buy another set just to shoot my DTA. I was wandering if anyone just put risers on the rail then put scope on. If so do you have pictures and what brand, kind etc...

Thanks

Re: Riser for DTA

the more connection points you use for the scope the worse the repeatability I believe. And the more opportunity you give it to fail if dropped. Just my personal view, others may vary in opinion.

Hi Travis
Call Glen Seekins he now makes risers for rings he might have a set there he has an AR riser rail in 20MOA part number AR-ST-20 if you need a flat rail he has them aswell i think you would be best calling.

Re: Riser for DTA

You could probably sell the NEAR rings for most of what you paid for them. If you decide to sell the NEAR rings, my recommendation for rings with a S&B on a DTA would be a Spuhr 34mm, 40 MOA cant, high mount. I believe the height is around 1.46" on that model. I currently have a Premier 5-25 mounted on my SRS in a Spuhr mount, and it fits perfectly. Butler Creeks just clear the rail, and the height is perfect for good cheek weld. Just a thought.

I think the Spuhr mount is much higher quality than the DTA rings, and I like the clamping surface of the Spuhr.
