Rocky Mountain Hunting Gear RM1200 LRF

RM1200 LRF Unboxing

If this has been posted here, I am not having any luck finding it, if it has been can someone please point me to it.

I hate to judge things based solely on price, but I would have to question why there is nothing on a $300 weapon mounted LRF, is it because it is a complete piece of junk as the price may indicate?

I would not expect the performance level of a Vortex Impact 4000, but if it can be zeroed, hold zero, and range out to 400-500 yards, $300 would be a decent deal.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

*EDIT - This looks like a "private label" version of this unit https://www.laserworks.com/product/scope-rangefinder-296.html ?
Looks like a $150-$200 unit on eBay, unless Rocky Mounting Hunting Gear has done something additional with it?

Buddy and one of the guys he hunts with just got them. Said they’ve been getting consistent ranges out to 5-600 yards. Haven’t really tested them any further since there’s no need with their varmint rigs.

1 of the 2 units had an issue with the mount continually coming loose. I’m assuming they got the “standard” versions given that they paid around $300 each for theirs, so I’d imagine the ADM would be the better option of the 2.

Didn’t really say how accurate the ranges were other than they had been matching up with dopes correctly. It sounds like it would work fine for your intended use, though I’m hesitant to say how well they’re going to hold up/stay zeroed with heavy use.

I picked up one of the ( laserworks ) in your link about 4 years back for 139-$ and was a big piece of shit . tested it out a few nights back then and threw it in the trash. The fucking diode of 'laserworks' was not even focused to Beam/dot in one I tried out back then, and the power of the laser diode was laughable..

The model sold as ( RM1200 LFR ) looks like a takeoff of that laserworks model with a added mounting improvement .
If they improved the laser diode quality better than the laserworks, to that of the RM1200 , it is worth a look, as 95% of people hunting at night never shoot past 300 yard anyway .
If they did not improve on the Diode quality it is still a piece of junk so dont buy it.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback! Based on further research, it doesn't look very promising! The mounting system seems to be pretty sketchy, and it doesn't seem to have any positive way to lock it into place once it is adjusted. The beam divergence on it also seems to not be very good, with a large and irregular shape. If I can find one for around $150, I will probably put it through the paces. If it shakes out, it might work for busting hogs at under 300-400 yards using NVG. I run both a Wilcox RAPTAR and a Vortex Impact 4000 on my personal rifles. I have been looking for a cheaper alternative to put on the extra rifles that I have and let others use when they are hunting with me.
