All I want to know, is if some one on here knows for sure if milling the slide on my HK usp tactical .45 so it can accept a trijicon rmr is A) possible and B) Whether the firearm will remain safe and reliable. I have contacted at least a dozen smiths, and they all want me to send my pistol to them, so they can check it out. I don't want to waste money on shipping if it isn't possible. PLEASE HELP !!!

Re: RMR on HK USP Tactical ???

Interesting thread on HKPRO about this and a link to a company that makes bases for red dot sights that will fit into your existing sight cut. May or may not be useful to you. I was kinda intrigued by your query and have a USP myself; if you read to the last page in the thread, couple posts talk about how close you'll be getting to the slide internals if you mill. I was kinda surprised to hear it because I thought the slide on my HK was pretty damn robust, sure feels like there'd be enough metal there...

Good luck with the project, let us know what you end up doing and post pics with the results if you get your RMR mounted.
