Robo callers

I've moved to a new geographical area a couple times in the last few years, but always have kept the same cell number. Since I have zero connections with the area my number is from, it's really easy to pick out when it's these recent robo callers that spoof the number to look like something local. If the area code and first three prefix of the number match my own, I never answer them and then add the number to the blocked caller list.

There really needs to be something done by the carriers, phone makers, and gov't regulators (ugh) to nix these assholes, because the blocking capabilities of today's phones are pure shit and the government's enforcement capabilities of the laws are even worse.

Government could give 2 shits. They only care about themselves and keeping the sheep in line.

If those robo callers were bothering .gov people, they would be in jail, no bond.

Same with property crimes. Private citizen who cares. .gov property? Then it's a homocide level investigation.

I'm still trying to figure out how to fully program my phone to reject any calls that come in where the first 6 digits match & the number is not on an approved list.

Pretty much anytime you see a call come in and the first 6 digits match yours, if it's not someone in your family you know, it's a scammer or telemarketer.

Doesn't exist in iOS, I don't think any extension apps do thaton either platform. That's what I'm talking about though, powerful custom call blocking on the phone OS itself, needs to be developed.

I found out that Samsung had so nicely included a decent basic call block app by default on my new Note 8
But then Sprint had force removed it to try to make me pay $2.99 a month to get it back...
Last carrier locked phone I'm ever getting, paying extra for the unlocked from now on.

Same thing however on Android, none of the call block apps let you do advanced custom pattern blocks that I found.
E-mail programs have had that capability forever.
