Rock River LAR-8 Aux Barrel

I've got a Rock River LAR-8 Varmint with a 26 inch barrel. I love the way it shoots off the bench but it's HEAVEY!! I knew it was going to be and heavy is fine for some shooting but If I were to want to lighten it up and get a shorter, lighter barrel, what would you guys suggest?

You should be able to get a shorter/lighter barrel assembly from RRA...but you will need to call them since they do not list 'em on the web or catalog.

Thanks. Kinda thought I might wait out somebody who is swapping out an 18 - 21 for something longer. may be wishful thinking though. i don't see many around.

I have the same rifle, very heavy. I emailed them a while back and asked about replacement barrels. They said that they will not be selling barrels until they get "caught up" on their orders. I looked at getting one of their complete uppers, but I'll probably just end up getting my barrel cut and threaded to about 21". Gemtech is just around the corner from me so I've talked to them about doing the work when I get a suppressor for it.
