Picked up a operator elite at a great price last week. I didn't really know what to expect from this platform and after a little load development all I can say is WOW! Re15 with a 178 amax shoots sub groups consistently out to 600. Played a little with it at 800 and rang steel easily. My only complaint is the poly mags, I have had no issues they just feel cheap compared to the pmags which I am use to running in my AR15. I may pick up a FAL mag and see how it runs.
I also ran some 210 OSB sub loads today at 50&100 and they shot really well with 10.0 of TB.
I am very pleased with the results so far of this platform.

I keep on saying this over and over.... Rra's might not be built as well as a KAC, but in terms of accuracy per dollar invested you cant beat an RRA

I have to admit I was a little skeptical when I read some reviews but most agreed that the rifle is reliable and few malfunctions where spoke of. I have a hundred or so rounds on the rifle now with no malfunctions and like I said accuracy is outstanding. I would buy again in a heartbeat! Kudos to Rock River on this one!

The FAL mags I've run definitely "feel" more robust, but not nearly as smooth and reliable as the poly mags. I got my FAL mags from DSA and PSA, new in cosmoline. Had to soak them in gasoline to get it all out. When feeding rounds from the poly mags, the gun feeds so smoothly that it seems the bolt is slamming on an empty chamber, and never had a malfunction. With the FAL mags there's definitely a lot more resistance to chambering and a few failures have been experienced, depending on the particular mag. Mine is a Bushmaster BAR10, 20". The Bushmaster design was later sold to RRA and became the LAR8 with a few improvements, such as a beefier bolt design.

This is the load I have settled on for this platform. The one shot left was not a flyer, didn't check my turrets and they had turned in the case. Made the adjustment back to zero and took four more shots for group. The more I shoot her the more I like her, the two stage trigger is great in this rig and breaks clean and crisp. Like I stated above the rifle holds sub moa groups with this load and is a pleasure to shoot. Today the weather is not good so I stayed near the bench and worked on some sub loads as well. The 1-10" 16" barrel stabilized my 220 SMKs at 928 fps and super quiet. My outlaw state bullets are flying a little faster at 1012 fps and groups are very similar to the SMK.

Here is a few videos of Sub loads out of the LAR8 16" I shot the video with a Gopro I have been messing around with.

And the 50 yard target three shots. 220 SMK with 9.8 gr trailboss

I wouldn't trust the FAL mags for anything other than just shooting at the range. You will not have any issues with the polymer mags. I am like you I wish they were PMAG quality! I put a JP Enterprise's Benny Cooley brake on mine and it made a huge difference in felt recoil and accuracy.
