roedale muzzle brake

Hey guys, just got a tikka t3 varmint, and now im looking into muzzle brakes. I saw that roedale has one specifically for the tikka. Here are my concerns

1) ive been told never clamp anything to the barrel as it affects accuracy. Is this true?

2) Ive seen clamp-on muzzle brakes fly off guns before, does this one stay still?

3) I dont mind getting the barrel threaded if i have to. is this a better idea?


my rifle is .308win btw.

A buddy of mine has one and it's really nice. He got it since he didn't want to risk accuracy shifts with threading. His is holding rock solid on a 308. It is a pricy brake but a good one.

Only if the person doing the threading doesn’t know what they are doing. Other then that threading the barrel is a better way to go.

im fairly certain this guy knows what he's doing... but what should i ask to make sure. The place is accurate arm in harrisonburg va if anyone knows him.

Personaly I would always recomend threading as the best means of attaching a brake to a muzzle, Ive seen absolutely no accuracy issues with a correctly threaded muzzle in the correct size thread related to the bore ever.

Having said that. our clamp on brakes do work excellently. and providing you follow the mounting instructions, they do stay put without a problem.
the clamp on style is an answer for folks who don't want to, or aren't legaly able to have a threaded muzzle.

with either of our brake styles you get a part that has been scientificaly designed with the help of the University of Applied Science-Osnabrück, has been thoroughly tested during a 12 month diploma study and is one of the most effective brakes available.

ok thanks, but i still have a few questions

1) if i were to get the brake, should i get the one for the tikka t3 tactical? or is there a better thread for my varmint so i can thin the barrel less?

2) i am also considering the T3 tactical bolt handle that you sell, how hard is it to install?

Don't you make one that is a combination of threaded and clamp in order to index it? I don't like the Vais type brakes but like the Roedale,problem is,I need to be able to remove it for suppressor use an re-attach for hunting use.This would be on a 338 EDGE or 300 RUM.Also,how do I order one without having to wait more than a month? Hunting seasons are coming up soon.

Tikka threads are metric. The Roedale brake comes in more popular thread sizes. Get the Roedale brake, as it far outperforms the Tikka/Sako brake. I can't answer your question about the bolt handle.

you have a PM sandrat

The T3 tactical has an M18x1 thread, thats plenty of meat left on the muzzle, so no worries at all there, and yes the threaded brakes screw on and clamp for indexing. simple to install and remove, they are also avaiable in other thread sizes. ( M18x1 and 5/8x24, the imperial size might be easier for you to get machined in the USA)

Bolt handles are very very simple to fit, remove the bolt shroud, bush the flanged part of the firning pin assembly forward, remove old bolt handle and instal new.

Got it Pete.Looks like I'm buying one as it is perfect for my use and should be relatively easy to swap with a suppressor.
