I have a factory Remington 700 with a Timney 510 trigger. I have about 7-800 rounds through it with that trigger and never had an issue. I was shooting last Saturday and the last shot of the day the bolt became very difficult to move back amd forth. It looks like it is caused by the sear when the forward bolt lugs begin to go intk the receiver. Is it possible the sear engagment needs adjusted? Did i bend the bolt some how?

I found an old thread that spoke about the sear sitting proud on Timney triggers, but what has me baffled is there was never issue before.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks, Josh

Re: Rough bolt cycling

I would start by pulling the rifle out of the stock and cleaning the trigger assembly and also checking the sear engagement. Then pull apart the bolt clean the whole bolt assembly and check for any burs on the cocking piece or shroud, then reassemble and check to see if that corrected the problem. some times all the rifle needs is a little TLC
