I just bought one last week, and over all I like it alot. I paid $450 for it. I think for the price you can probably just buy a base model, hogue stock and a better barrel and be ahead for the same price if not under for a little trigger work.
With that said I dont regret my decision to buy it, the trigger is better then a factory base model trigger and it does come with a weaver base and a bipod.
So far I have only test fired it since I am waiting on rings, but plan on shooting it this weekend assuming my rings get here tomorrow.
Heres mine as she sits with a few mods -
Rimfire Tech tactical charging handle & 20moa extended base
Jard 1#LB trigger group - polished hammer and all contact point with the bolt
Polished contact points on the bolt
-Waiting on a set of Burris XTR MED rings and a TIG stock since they were the only ones that had what I wanted in the time frame I needed it.

My experience with factory accurized 10/22's is that they are not bad rifles, they just aren't quite 'out there' at the head of the pack where extreme accuracy is concerned. I am perfectly willing to accept that in exchange for a factory warrantee.
One may indeed build more accurate 10/22's, and quite possibly do it cheaper; but then again, there's that warrantee...

Never did see that thread on RFC, I originally wanted to go with a boyds or Wallis forge but I am leaving in 2 weeks for work and theres no boyds to be found and Chris from wallis forge couldnt get one to me in time since he makes them to order. Chris is a great guy to talk to by the way.
Anyways if the TIG looks like the one in the RFC thread it will be going back and I will just order up from Chris since its what I wanted to do anyways. I will just have to wait and play with the stock next year when I get back from work.

I have the Target Tactical 10/22 and a Savage Mark II 21inch heavy barrel and the Savage destroys the 10/22 in the accuracy department. I tested at least 15 different ammo choices in both guns ... ranging from bulk pack ammo to high end $10 a box ammo like Federal GMM - Eley Match - etc.
They both like CCI Subsonic ammo and quite a few subsonic brands would not cycle the 10/22 properly (yes it was clean).
For a 16 inch barrel it wasn't bad by any means - however I shoot my 22LR's at 100 yards most of the time. At the 50 yard line it does okay.
I think they are very overpriced currently - $500 plus for a 22? Its not like this is an 513T or 40x here .... its a 10/22. For that money you can get a Savage Mark II TR or TRR for a trainer.

Your original post didn't specify purpose ... plinking ... serious target shooting ... trainer ... etc.
If its a trainer type rifle the Savage Mark II TR / TRR options can be had for approx $100 less. If this is the purpose then consider similiar optics, reticle, FFP/SFP on both etc etc.
If your just plinkin and shooting some squirrels ... options are endless and the 10/22 works great for that. I know guys that have some very accurate 10/22's but they have a lot of $$$ in them.

It would be a plinker/ trainer. I'm thinking the Savage is the way to go. Less money and as accurate if not more, Win, Win! Thanks guys for all of your help
