Looking at a basic .308 rifle.

Tikka CTR SS .308
Ruger American Hunter/Magpul .308

Intent on the Tikka would be to add a Tikka Performance AICS bottom metal to have the AICS mag capability. Other than that, stock for both. Medium weight bolt gun, Ruger is 2 pounds heavier.

Anyone have the Ruger and what accuracy are you getting?

If you find the ammo the rifle likes and you do your part, Ruger Americans are typically around 1/2 MOA rifles

Have the Ruger Am Predator. Shoots factory 130 federal loaded barnes in the .75" range. Really way better than it should be for the price. Hear the same things on the tikkas.

Good to hear, I have the Ruger now, just waiting on my scope return from Vortex. Have some loads ready to try when it does.

Well, goofing around with some light loads with H4895 and 175 SMK, 210m at 100. Very mild and pretty happy with the results. Just wanted an accurate short range load with mild recoil.

Can’t speak for the Tikka but the Ruger shoots extremely well. Several buddy’s shoot them and I am amazed at how stupid accurate they are.
