I have a rare day off tomorrow and was going to the range. I received my new batteries for my S&B 1-8x25 (CR2032) and popped it in. I store without any batteries in the device. I also tested the battery with a voltage meter and working as it should.

My scope has the 11 illumination settings. I get zero illumination at any setting. This was working just fine before putting it in my climate controlled safe. I tried contacting S&B support, but I just missed them. I've searched all over the net for info and came up short.

I'm sure my only hope here will be calling them tomorrow, but thought I would put this out there if anyone had comments or suggestions.

Try a different brand of battery. 2032 cells are supposed to be made to a dimensional standard but different brands often have slightly different dimensions and edge radii, and some brands don't play nice in certain battery holders.

I had Duracell 2032’s not work in my Apple AirTags due to the coating they put on to prevent small children from ingesting them. Had to remove the coating which was a pain. Switched to Panasonic for them after that. IDK, I’d be interested in hearing your resolution to the problem when you get it solved

I discovered a couple of years ago that if you buy batteries online, even on places like amazon, that you have a good chance of getting some very realistic looking Chinese counterfeit battery. I stick to places like samsclub to buy mine these days.

Here's a question if you're Homer Simpson: Did you insert the battery with the correct polarity? It happens.

Here's a suggestion: Use some alcohol on a Q-tip and clean the contacts in the battery compartment. Use Deoxit, if you have some.
