S&B headstamp

i found 50pcs of S&B headstamped .308 brass today at the range. Anyone know what it is and if it is any good

Sellier bellot. Czech. I have used 223 brass for blasting ammo without issue.

.223? it was .308

I think he means he uses the .223 for reloading without any issues.

I use it in .303 but I wouldn't use it for precision loads (its on a par with PPU in my opinion). Use it for plinking ammo, I'm sure it'll be fine for that.

Primer pockets are smaller than standard,

and the brass is self is at best suspect, I would never use that brass unless it was the one thing left to use.

Sellier & Bellot is usually heavy brass. With the primers punched out, it fetches a fair price at the metal recycler...that's pretty much all I think it's good for due to spotty quality control and tolerances. I take the money I get for range pickup S&B and put it towards quality brass.

i had the same issue with the smaller primer pockets on some 223 blasting loads i did. i deprimed then went to reprime and felt too much resistance.

after inspection, it looked a lot like LC primer crimp. I ran through the RCBS pocket swage and no problems.
