I will be mounting a S&B Ultra Short 5x20x50 w/ Illumination on a bolt gun w/ 20MOA Pic rail. What are some options I have besides the Spuhr 4036. This will be used mainly for hunting and occasional steel ringing. The Spuhr is a good fit but want to hear from you guys on maybe a good lighter alternative.

For a hunting rig, I personally would go with a solid set of rings. Personal preference.

I am saving up for a 5-20 US, as I don't think that anything other than March can offer so much in such a neat package.

That is a 3-20US. Different dimensions than the 5-20US.

Also: lol! I like how you call him "our leader" after he told you how he runs this.

Ok, stand corrected. I didn't know there was much of difference between the size of the two Ultra shorts.

And, yes. I had no idea who he was until he introduced himself. Doesn't mean I cant challenge him. However, I will take his word for it after Ive been corrected and a long time brother / forum member vouched as well. If I am wrong, I have no issues admitting to it and correcting myself. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, over a full inch I believe. The Illumitumor on the 5-20US restricts mounting options even more. It is a small little beast.

Also some advice, I would be wary about "challenging" anyone unless you know they are wrong or at the very least off. Assuming doesn't end well, speaking from experience. lol

Thanks for the advise. However, I will challenge anyone that posts about stuff with no facts to back it up. Doesn't matter who it is. Mr. Lowlight himself still puts his pants on the same way as I do. ;) However, this case was a bit different than usual. Afterall, this IS the Internet and a forum. I dont think he got his feelings hurt one bit, he's a big boy. We talked offline for a bit, he seemed quite okay with it. Thanks for your concern.
