Each year the school here puts on a program honoring veterans.
As part of the program they list each conflict asking veterans of that era to stand up to be honored.
Each year fewer and fewer of WWII vets are standing. Even the Korean War vets are thinning out.
Another Observation:
Korea is known as the "Forgotton War" but I can find few people who know why it was called the Forgotton War. Hopefully most of us know it got its name because after the final pushing of the communist to the pre-war line seperating the two countries, and peace talks started, the war was pretty much forgotten on the home front yet the battles waged on for the soldiers on the line.
I see the same thing happening in Afgan, and more so Iraq. I fear we are creating another "Forgotton War".
