So I ordered an ambi selector, got it in and went to install. Also should note that this on an AR15 lower and is a RRA selector. Anyways, got it in, but the issue I'm having is that this thing is too wide. There is .063 to .125" of play in this thing!

Now when I say play, I mean side to side movement. Now never having installed an ambi safety, I couldn't say whether this is supposed to be there, but I think not. I have a spikes lower and it has stops on each side, as it has the markings for select fire. These stops appear to stick out at least .063" (haven't actually measured).

Do you guys think this selector might be for an AR10, or is just because I haven't put the detent and spring in it yet. I just don't think it should have that music h side to side play! Thoughts?
Thanks, Jason

Re: safety selector question

The track the detent rides in on the safety is quite narrow, not wide enough to allow that kind of movement. Put the spring and detent in, and you won't have a lot of lateral movement.

Did you complete the assembly and had this play in it?

Re: safety selector question

Ha ha no I didn't completely assemble it and that's were I went wrong. Can you say brain fart? I don't know what I was thinking. I hadn't never installed an ambi and got way to ahead of myself after doing some looking and checking on things. I put this thing in and saw all the play and stopped, not realizing it should be there. I began to overanalize it! Sorry for wasting thread space, my bad!
