Sako M995 questions

Hello all, recently purchased a Sako M995 in 338 LM and have some questions.
The previous owner milled the cocking device on the underside of the bolt and I have been unable to bring the trigger out to more than 1 pound 2 oz. It was 8 oz when I received the rifle. I think it needs a new firing pin assembly and will the TRG 42 assembly fit this model?
I have searched the previous threads on the topic and was unable to find the answer.
Also does anybody have any experience with the KRG stock for this model as I am looking at restocking the rifle in the near future as I think the recoil with the original stock will be a bit harsh.
Thanks in advance, Dave

What did the previous owner do exactly and why? The TRG shroud/firing pin assembly is slightly different, I'll check if they can interchange but I remember thinking they couldn't when I had them both apart last. As an aside, you can use a TRG trigger with our chassis if you want.

He ground down the part of the firing pin assembly where the sear engages. I wish I knew why. When I got the rifle it had about an 8 oz trigger pull and I have only been able to improve it to about 17 oz. Still a bit light for my tastes. I'm wondering if a new trigger might be needed as well

You can get the shroud and firing pin at Brownells. Firing pin assemblies are the same as the 42s. I'm using one now in a M995. If you are gonna restock KRG is the way to go.

edt: The original stock is going to crack eventually so you may want to do that sooner rather than later so you aren't dealing with that in the field when you need it most. Cause that's when it's going to break.
