Sako Quad, 22LR, in an "AI" type stock (the finest Airsoft available!).
It's a single shot for now, trying to figure out how to inlet it for the DBM. The rear action screw is floating for now, will have to make a bracket and perhaps epoxy it in.
Scoped (off for pic) with a Falcon Menace from RW Snyder Gunsmithing, bolt handle and picatinny base from RimFire Technologies.
Will shoot some groups to see how firm it can maintain zero.

(Apologize it took a bit to complete, life got in the way)

Re: Sako Quad in 'AI' stock

I don't even know which model, it's from a broken airsoft gun! But I have not been wanting to wait for a company to make an AI trainer so I put this ridiculous combination together myself. Not bad for about $100 in for everything so far.

Re: Sako Quad in 'AI' stock

I've been thinking about just trying to build my own AICS 1.5 skins-compatible chassis for my quad. I haven't broken the calipers out to see how viable the idea is, yet.

Re: Sako Quad in 'AI' stock

The gun shoots lights out!! It did before I put it in that stock too. 50 yard groups can be covered with a dime.
As for the stock that I used it is a Ares AW-338. It was a expensive airsoft gun but it is made a lot better then the cheaper ones. I actually don't know how they can get around the AI patents. I pulled the skins off of my AICS and it would actually fit on this gun. It was a very fun project to do and I love the way it turned out.

Nice groups, am actually surprised it can do that well it that stock. Will see how mine groups. This build is kinda rinky dink so...not holding out much hope.
My Quad also will easily do dime or better sized groups at 50m, all day long. I've taken it out to 100 and 200 and its easy witht the 20moa RT base and the the extended vertical reticle on the Menace.

Re: Sako Quad in 'AI' stock

Shooter,
I was looking at putting my Quad into that stock but things lined up much better with my Annie. I had a friend machine out a block that slides into the metal frame of the stock, the block is bolted to the frame and the action is bolted to the stock. I acutally bedded the stock in 2 places. It is rock solid in this stock now.
