.94"

Manetee gun range. 4.5-8 mph wind
Virgin Rem brass (bulk), 43.5g H4350 (chargemaster), 139gr Lapua Scenar, Wolf primer
Did not weight brass or bullets,

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

Thanks guys. I'm very happy with it. A lot of $, but it shoots great.

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

I have a Tikka T3 Sporter in .260 Rem and it also shoots very well. I have been shooting 142 Sierras, loaded about 0.010" into the lands, which gives me a overall length of 2.980".

I was wondering how long your loaded length is, and if you are loading to touch the lands, or loading to fit the magazine? I am also using H4350.

Thanks!
Dean

Great shooting!

I also have a TRG-22 in .260 and I use the exact same load as you, except with CCI 200 primer. It has been the most accurate load I have tried.

Love these rifles!

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

Ha! Lakeway I got the load from you!

I PMed you about a month back asking for the thread you started.

I tried everything and should have just stayed with your load...thanks for all your hard work.

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

Dean,

With the 139's
My COAL is 2.875
My ojive is 2.310

My COAL is 2.855 for the 142g SMK, they shoot just a little wider than the 139's both are really close at all distances

Take care

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

finbox,

Are you at the lands with the COAL of 2.875 (139's) and 2.855" (142's)?

What is the max length that you can get in your magazines?

In my T3, I can only get 2.825" in my supplied mag, but I can use the long mag which gives me 3.350", which allows me to use the long COAL rounds.

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

Dean,
No I'm not near the lands. I have a gauge but don't have the special Hornady .260 case to test it.

Here is a load development picture of the groups with their jump.

2.958 is the max in the TRG mags

My 260 TRG likes that charge weight too!

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

I have been using CCI BR2 Primers, and 42.0 gr H4350. Shot a .383" and .404" with the 142's, the only two groups since I broke it in. It seems like it wants to shoot. I am going to load some 139's and see how that goes, and try different lengths, from 2.800" out to about 3" where they will be into the lands. I will try 43.5gr of H4350 and see how that goes.

Thanks for sharing your test target...looks great!

Re: Sako TRG-22 .260 best group ever

Nice group!

I have a 260 TRG and it is my favorite rifle. It is ridiculous how easy it is to shoot well. My rifle likes 43.0gr H4350, Lapua brass, and 142 SMKs.

My best group has been 1.9 inches at 670 yards! It was a 3 shot group, wish I could say I could do it every time!
