Finally got my salvo a couple days ago, can't get it to thread onto the mount. I can't get the mount in far enough for the threads to grab.
In this video, at about :58, the locking collar with the notches is flopping/loose. Right under that is a retaining clip that holds the locking collar tight, won't turn either direction.
Do I need to remove the retaining clip somehow? I have 2 mounts, they're both the same.

I think I got it. A love tap with a punch and it broke loose.
