Hey fellas, i recently bought a savage 11 package deal which included a nikon 3-9 bdc scope, in 300wsm. This is exclusively a hunting rifle. Now to my findings, make sure you take the mounts and optics off and completely retorque to specs. Check the screw on the front mount mine was to long and wouldnt allow the base to be tightened down so i had the run to wally world and buy a set of weaver mounts and used only the screws with the orginal factory bases and it worked, so just some fyi for you..on my 1st range trip i was very dissatisfied with the accuracy being almost 5 inches at 100yrds. And also using Hornady Whitetail i had to hammer the bolt open with palm of my hand. Ramndom fliers also. So i decided 2 diassemble the rifle and made sure action lug was properly seated against the stock and torqued the front action screw to 40in lbs and the rear to 35in lbs. Reassembled the rifle and boight a box of Norma big game ammo 150 nosler ballistic tips and back off to the range i went. As you can see below what a drastic improvement i had. Just felt like i had to post my findings incase someone else was having issues. As you can see norma put 3 into just a hair under 1/2 moa. After the rifle was worked over.
