thats the big flaw... the re-design of the SSS trigger gets rid of that... </div></div>
I don't see this as a flaw.
That "lock up" is the firing pin resting against the accurelease blade, preventing the NEGLIGENT/ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE you would have otherwise had.
The accutrigger is the safest rifle trigger out there. Like a Glock, the Savage will NOT discharge unless the trigger is actually pulled. Remingtons, Winchesters, Howas etc etc etc, can release the sear and discharge when bumped or with hard bolt closure. A Savage with Accutrigger cannot.</div></div>
Maybe not a flaw, but it could be designed better. In Marlin's blade-type trigger, for example, the blade simply provides a mechanical stop for the trigger assembly, not unlike how the safety works. It's impossible to release the sear without first depressing the trigger blade, but you won't have the finicky behavior of the Accutriggers.
Also, a properly functioning trigger such as the SSS for the Savage, any Remington 700 trigger, etc., will not release with a nasty bump or bolt closure.
That being said, the Accutriggers are still among the nicest factory triggers on the market.
